Hebron Nebraska was a good call - A supercell has just eupted North of the warm front and is now heading towards Hebron. Tops to 55ft and Vil > 65/km2 - I bet the updraft on this cell just looks fantastic right now.

I can see this from my office window here in Lincoln- it does look incredible! I'm afraid I'm not going to get anything done here the rest of the day- I just hope most of the action can hold off a few more hours.

That is a gorgeous ride! What an updraft......can you say explosion?
Pretty agitated Cu field back to the west along the Hwy. 136 corridor. better 0-1 km SRH just west of this cell, too. The next hour or so will be interesting to follow new development with possibly better potential for tornadoes.
Heading south and west of Lincoln shortly.

Large Hail in SE NE
wunderground.com showing radar readings of the two cells in Thayer and Jefferson counties topping out at 40-45,000 feet. Max hail size was indicated at 1.75 - 2.25 inches.
Storm direction indicated was out of the WSW at 17-19 knots.
EDIT: wunderground.com radar now indicates storms south of Fairbury NE topping out near 54,000 feet with max hail size of 3.75 inches.
EDIT: The two storm cells in Jefferson County showing signs of a "merger". Look for possible super-cell circulation once the merger is done!

Dan Dawson and I are just about to enter SLN on I135, and we'll continue northward towards the KS/NE border. I was a bit surprised to see such early convection, but the 12z EMC 4 km WRF nailed it pretty well (though it showed 1 or 2 more storms that extended down closer to TOP right now). Unfortunately, that version of the 12z WRF doesn't do a whole lot in the area after this initial batch of storms, and neither does the 15z HRRR. Hmm. Vis sat showing a Cu field to the W of the storms, and I'd rather have an isolated supercell in the Hebron / Beatrice / St. Joe area at 1-2 UTC (when the LLJ really starts to crank) than now.
The overshooting top on this storm as it was N of Belleville was amazing. The first one or two overshoots were 'normal', but then there was a massive (in size) overshoot that persisted until we lost it above the anvil. The anvil now is quite thick with some decent knuckling on the upshear side.

Golf ball & bigger hail reported by Emerg. Mgrs & wall cloud now beginning to rotate. Environment isn't quite there for Tors yet- but getting there. OAX con call says it will be busy tonight- and Tor threat will spread into E NE as time progresses

Fairbury storm has just been tornado warned, most likely the area of best rotation is just to the northeast of Hollenburg, KS.
*edit* looks like a confirmed tornado to the south of Odell, NE moving northeast at 35mph. Top approaching 60,000 feet!

That thing looks great look here in Manhattan. Reports of Tornado on the ground by trained spotters. This thing is looking like a monster.
