Severe Thunderstorm Watch #241 has been issued for far eastern CO/southwestern NE/northwestern KS until 3 A.M. MST/4 A.M. CST. A line of supercell thunderstorms is currently pounding Yuma County and moving east towards St Francis, KS and Benkelman, NE. Earlier these storms produced 1.50 to 1.75 inch hail in Washington County, near Joes and the Arickaree School, respectively. They also produced 64 mph winds at Akron. Currently not severe warned(warnings just expired) but expect warnings will be reissued as these storms continue to have intense radar signatures with 60 dbz cores. Hail and winds the big threat here, tornado risk fairly low. They should stay north of I-70 unless backbuilding occurs on the southern end of the line.
