Yeah Andrew, this is very, very weird all the way around. Now I am unable to obtain tornado warning info from any of the sources I normally use.....COD, NWS, etc. Even GRLevel3 isn't displaying anything. The last TOR WAR update from the NWS site came at 5:30 MDT, the last on COD at 5:44 MDT. This is really unusual. Hopefully the folks within the warning area are getting their info ok through NOAA WX Radio. But it appears all of us outsiders watching this event have been cut off. There's no feed of info getting out. I don't think I have seen this happen before.

From what I can gather, there's actually warnings in effect from the AMA office, but for some reason, they aren't making their way outside the office to COD, NOAA, GRLevel3, etc. This is really weird. I am not sure what exactly is going on. But it seems the SPC active watches page is the only place I can find displating the tornado warnings from the AMA office.

Amarillo radar doesn't seem to be updating, either. Last AMA image is over a half hour old on both COD and RAP nexrad sites.

Dave, I am getting the radar fine on GR Level 3. Tornadoes likely just northeast of Channing, west of Edmonson, and possibly in Potter County (darn ground clutter!). Very bad timing for the information outage, to say the least.

For what it's worth, the radar sites I was using were down for about an hour, and maybe this had something to do with things...don't know, but it was the actual RADAR for nwTexas panhandle into OK pan, up to KS that were showing CLEAR skies...totally out for some time, and maybe STILL out it seems? Better to report with each other, BUT....reports ARE being called in.

Hmmm. Testing SL4 and it currently shows active radar and warning/statement information. Currently some 20 active warning polygons covering some 27 counties. Wondering what feed other software programs are using and if they (apparently) don't have backups/redundancy?

As an aside, we always joke about chase convergence in the field, but now you can watch it remotely The car icons are vehicles active reporting into the SpotterNetwork. I took this about an hour ago.

Yeah, I just now finally got an updated image on COD, haven't tried RAP - maybe those sites are just being unusually slow because of the heavy load. I'm definitely going to have to upgrade to GR Level 3.

You can also see counties with warnings, and minutes until expiration at...

...but clicking on the county will not bring up the warning text.

Data flow problems

Apparently, several locations across the country including us here in Grand Forks, ND are currently experiencing data flow problems through NOAA/NCEP satellite downlinks. That may explain the issues with the warnings not getting out of AMA...

There was a message from the NWS that the uplink to the NOAAPORT was having trouble, so that may be the result of the delay of the warnings. Warnings are still being disseminated, but just not being uplinked to the SBN, thus warngins won't show up in some of the various sources that have been listed.

Figured I'd contribute to that. That Lamb to Swisher Co cell has produced a long tracked tornado that David Drummond continues to track. Three homes damaged when it blew itself SE of Olton and it's got Center Plains right down it's barrell. I'm still on call for work down here tonight and stuck sittin south of LBB until then and I'm hurt'n.

EDIT: Some more preliminary damage reports coming in on that one around Tulia. Sounds a little concerning in intensity, and maybe a trailer park involved. Looks like a squall is developing down my way, gone chasing.

As others have mentioned, no problem with radar on GrLevel 3 but no TOR warnings for AMA at all. Luckily, getting updates from Craig on the Dumas area TOR and he has seen 3 tornadoes out of the storm so far.

Storm just SE of Lamar, CO is showing a nice couplet now as well w/o a warning.

this was fairly early on in the tornado near or just east of Channing, Tx. It reorganized into a fairly large cone tornado that traveled fairly close to us to our north. We then got hit by RFD and had only glimpses (of a very large wedge) until later when (i believe its the same) we got to it roping out nicely
