4/21/07 NOW: TX/OK/KS/CO/NE/SD

Dual Tornado Warnings in Cherry Co in NE. They look to split around Valentine, NE. They will likely stay strong into SD.

Darin Brunin and Dick McGowan are on the tornado-warned cell southeast of Lamar CO. Looks like a beast on radar. Darin's webcam shows a solid updraft base and rainy RFD, if I'm seeing things correctly... with a possible needle funnel.

I don't see any evidence of splitting, and I don't see much in these storms that screams tornado either. AE has been calling > 3" hail west of Ainsworth for a few scans, but LNX is in VCP11 instead of a sevwx mode.

The storms are not spliting but are already 2 seperate storms and will go on either side of Valentine. The west storm looked much better several scans ago and I will agree the east storm looks pretty disorganized.

tornado warned cells west of AMA. One just crossed I-40 had a nice couplet on it. There are several other cells still developing, so I don't know how long they will stay discrete

What I don't understand is why have all the tornado warnings been removed in the Texas panhandle? At minimum northeast Oldham and southeast Hartley should be warned right now, plus eastern Lamb and western Hale.

Take a look at the radar, people at AMA!

I just got off the phone with Craig Maire and he was somewhere in TX, I didnt catch where. He started talking about a funnel coming down and then started screaming about a tornado while he was cutting out and then I lost him. Just got him back on the phone and he had a rain wrapped tornado on the ground near Channing. He is calling it in right now.

Glenn Rasmussen is reporting a tornado crossing FM 1071 at of 7:10 CDT. Observing numreous power flashes.

EDIT: Intersection of 168 and 1071.

Hail Co. and Lamb Co. T-Warn 7:03pm

Remember, we all know where to find tornado warnings, so posting only a warning in your post is not allowed if you check the rules.

I have to agree about the lack of tornado warnings between Lubbock and Amarillo... couple supercells with decent couplets, especially NW of Lubbock as has been mentioned already.

From what I can gather, there's actually warnings in effect from the AMA office, but for some reason, they aren't making their way outside the office to COD, NOAA, GRLevel3, etc. This is really weird. I am not sure what exactly is going on. But it seems the SPC active watches page is the only place I can find displating the tornado warnings from the AMA office.

I wondered if something like that had to be going on. Can't imagine any office being dumb enough not to warn on those storms, especially with reports coming in.

I can see this as well. No less than 7 tor warnings in TX right now as this is being posted.

Current tornado warnings can be viewed at:

Numerous tornadic supercells in progress across the Texas panhandle, certainly looks like the beginnings of a significant tornado event. Expect conditions to conitnue to be favorable and activity to continue to increase...would not rule out a few long trackers.
