2011 Chase Partner Thread

We (2 people) are chasing between May 18th and June 18th this year. We already have a SUV car rented and we have two extra seats available if anyone wants to join us. We will be in the game for any setup worth chasing from TX to Canadian border and east to Ohio valley. One could join us for most of the expedition period or just occasionally, we surely would be happy to share costs from our chases and make new friends. We have mobile internet with GRL3/GRL2 software and backup with BaronWX, Delorme GPS, professional photo equipment. I have 10 year chase experiences in Europe and 3 year chasing experiences in the US with good meteorological background knowledge. I am an ESTOFEX (European SPC-like forecasts) forecaster for a couple of years now - see the link in my signature. If you are interested, don't hesitate to PM me.

I'm up in MN in the Twin Cities area, and I'm about as wet-behind-the-ears as possible. I've got very basic understanding of weather, but I come complete with a pretty good SLR camera setup, good navigation/map skills, and military first aid training. I'm pretty much game with some notice at nearly any time, since I work a rotating nights schedule. I don't mind going out for a day or so at a time depending on work schedule, and within the near-region is best, but with enough notice, I can be fine with a long trip. I'm fine with some levels of risk, so long as there's no idiocy. I can afford a share of gas, too!

I am a virgin Houston chaser here leaving for a week to chase. (Tomorrow, Thursday, May 12 to Thursday May 19). I have a small car, and enjoy driving.

I will be driving to anywhere in the mid-west to chase, and am comfortable driving up to 600mi/day up to a max of 1000.

What I’m looking for is an experienced sir/madam who:

a) is chasing in this timeline and wouldn’t mind having me tag along (along with answering questions/showing me the ropes).

b) wouldn't mind just meeting up for breakfast/lunch/dinner (on me) to discuss the hobby.

c) would like to join me for a day, or several, and enjoy a thorough brain picking.

Jeremy Holmes and myself will be chasing out in CO, NE, KS, OK, TX starting on Tuesday, we are looking for one, possibly two chasers who would like to join up and split gas costs. We'll be using a tahoe as our chase vehicle.

we would prefer someone who at least knows the basics (how to read radar, and navigate, operate a video camera. forecasting experience/knowledge preferred, but not required).

... I did some Mid-Atlantic chasing this year, and we chased 8 or 9 tornado-warned cells (sadly, only one produced and it was obscured when it put down 4-5 miles away from us... 'tis the bane of chasing the Mid-Atlantic). I'm shooting for at least 2 tornadoes in the time I'm out there. I did most of the forecasting for us this year, and Jason has his 6 years of Plains chasing and does a great job with navigation on top of finding great vantage points. If we didn't live in the Mid-Atlantic, we would have had a great season

Hey, I'm in NYC but have been chasing out in PA when there's something going on and I have a bit of time. I'm a college professor and will have a lot more time in a few weeks, so if you're chasing locally or up into PA, and want to coordinate, let me know. Here's a little chase I did on the way home Sunday, got onto three severe storms.

My first post ever on Stormtrack. Administrators please reply if this is in the wrong location. I live in the Houston area and have seriously chased storms for thirteen years now. I'm ALWAYS on a strict budget so I'm looking for fellow chasers to join forces with to split costs. My car is a lemon but I'm willing to sacrifice certain "luxuries" to make stormchasing more affordable. I'm pretty much available year-round but because of soaring fuel prices I'm concentrating my resources during the peak of the season, especially for chasing up north.
