• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Don't want to clog up the foru

Don't want to clog up the forums with more posts on this. So posting video from last night and this morning from Norman here. Got pretty intense down here for a few hours, but totals aren't even close to approaching those to the N and E :o

4"-6" here in Andover,KS. Have to say have been enjoying these low amounts this year while watching it all unfold on radar, pic, video form hundreds of miles away. With no generator and a ever decreasing wood pile am glad we werent in the bulls for this one ;)

Blizzard conditions have taken over in northern Illinois. Here in DeKalb we had a healthy dose of lake effect snow off Lake Michigan which reduced visibility to 1/2 mile. Keep in mind this was completely unrelated to the mains storm system. Pretty rare that we get lake effect snow this far west off the lake, but when you've got 60-70 knots at the low levels that will happen.

Also throw in a plus that I'm currently streaming blizzard conditions from northern Illinois right now. Nothing you've never seen before at this point, but perhaps I'll get the chance to stream thunder snow later!

Good luck, Andrew. We have had moderate to heavy sleet all day here in St. Joe, with blizzard conditions reported just 30 miles west. The winds are pretty darn impressive; 25-30 northeasterly with a few gusts to 35 recorded here at the house. That's just not common from that direction here. But the precipitation type isn't all that exciting. Could be much worse with ice I guess. There was a brief time around 1PM CST where it snowed pretty hard for about half an hour. My best guess based on the 18Z RUC is that we'll have sleet here until at least about 8PM CST.

It appears that the snow is about over for the Tulsa area. I had several measurements at my house of 21-23 inches. I have some drifts of 3-4 feet. Needless to say we are snow bound.

We've had heavy snow most of the afternoon in the KC Metro area. Guessing about 10" at my location 20 miles east of downtown KC. Snow is letting up, but now the winds are kicking up - starting to get drifts pushing 3'.Watch video >

Have had 7-9 inches so far in Macon Mo, in the northeast part of the state, with drifts pushing 3 ft. My wife took this video on her phone from Mercer, MO you CANNOT get around in anything but a 4wd vehicle and have had lots of reports of slide offs.

I feel I need to participate. Heavy rain has arrived and looks to be here for awhile. Rates in access of .10" an hour are falling in southeast Ohio and will continue for the next several hours. Runoff could cause localized nuisance flooding. Thankfully most the snow has already melted off over the weekend and the system has sped up by the time the warm conveyor belt reached the area, flooding shouldn't be an issue. Yay for the big winter storm (rolls eyes).

I just wanted to check in real quick. I am at ground zero on the south side of Chicago (at my house) and before I lose power (the area around me is losing power) I wanted to say that I have a live stream up on my blog http://nrnilstormchaser.blogspot.com/2011/02/watch-me-live-as-i-sit-in-ground-zero.html and that we have about 4 inches of snow on the ground but you would never know it due to the fact that the wind is gusting to 43 kts. Below is a video I just posted from when I went out there a couple minutes ago! If you don't hear from me it is because I lost power...

Danny, KPMT at Livingston Ill is showing winds at 46mph with gusts to 58 mph, just plain brutal. I hope the power outages are not wide spread with the extreme cold moving in.

We ended up with 7" here, a quarter of an inch of sleet included. All of the "snowpocalypse" totals ended up being a bit farther northwest, especially from a Joplin to Lake of the Ozarks line where 18" snowfall totals did verify in some locations. All in all not a disappointment, as we did end up having blizzard conditions earlier today. Not quite as intense as what Danny is showing (wow!), but still satisfying.

Moderate snow right now in Waukesha, WI. Wind is really whipping it around though. Already some good sized drifts around the house courtesy of some gusts that have to be in the 40-45 mph range. Heavier snow just starting to kick up here.
