• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Tornado watch issued for portions of extreme eastern IA and NW IL with a doppler indicated TOR moving through Louisa CO in IA. Figured this was a good time to start a NOW.

Well this TOR was actually confirmed on the ground doing damage just outside of Muscatine near the airport and then again on the northern edge of town.

Now looks like maybe some mini-supercells are forming south of the main line. The activity is moving to the northeast through west-central Illinois. Pictures of the Muscatine tornado are up on the WQAD-TV website.... wqad.com

5 preliminary TOR reports on SPC page... looks like two could be duplicates on the possible long track TOR through Muscatine County.

The tornado probabilities on this watch are higher than any issued yesterday (60% / 30%).

The cells to the south are SVR warned, but don't look all that impressive on radar. Although they are in a very favorable environment for tornadoes.

It looks like the TOR warned cell in Jackson County, IA has two separate areas of rotation... 1) large upside down U shape on the southwest corner and 2) backward J feature on the southeast corner.

EDIT: It looks like there were two on the ground. From KDVN NWS "TWO TORNADOS REPORTED BY LAW ENFORCEMENT MOVING NE. 4 SE MAQUOKETA"

Looks Bellevue, IA, is about to have some fun. Stronger TVS in GR2Analyst than the Muscatine, IA, tornado. Will hopefully have some links to GR imagery shortly....

Tornado being consistantly reported on the ground in the Galena Territory area of far NW Illinois. This area is a higher wealth area full of residences just eat of the tourism town of Galena, IL.

Heads up Scales Mound, IL....

Yes that cell has had constant and impressive rotation in it. I almost headed out there too much earlier but decided to stay nearby to see what developed. Oh well..Looks like the line will move to through into NC IL and the RFD area by 4-5pm Decent cell moving through S Whiteside Co.

Latest LSRDVN shows a funnel cloud reported by fire department spotters just west of Apple River Canyon -- that's 7 miles away from the storm. Firenado report ;> ?

Looks like the circulation is generally weakening (although it's in a bit of a dead zone) while the storm rides up along the boundary. Nice mid-level rotation on the Whiteside IL cell but nothing down low.

The cell in LaFayette county (WI) was fairly discreet and showed rotation across a couple scans, but got cut off by a new cell that formed in front of it and is already bowing out.

The lake breeze has moved inland about 25 miles, so that could prove interesting in a couple hours when the convection gets to it.

*edit @ 1547*

New TOR warning for Iowa county for the apparently still-rotating storm that I posted about above. LayFayette SO reported touchdowns in their county.

Go figure...we FINALLY get something around here and I can't chase. Muscatine Wal-Mart is reportedly destroyed, injuries also reported. Whiteside Co. in IL is now tornado warned with some present rotation. Tornado out my back door and I have to chase through the computer screen. Argh!!!

Word of mouth says that KWQC is showing aerial footage of damaged homes in Muscatine that would be potentially as strong as EF2/EF3, of course depending on their construction.

KWQC.com is live streaming coverage now.... helicopter shots of residential area damage...

If the line makes it into the Chicago area, im wondering what effect the lake breeze which now stretches through most of Lake, and half of Cook counties will have on it. The lake breeze has for the most part stalled out and temps for the most part arent much cooler unless you are right on the lake shore.
