06/01/07 NOW: IA/IL

Pretty explosive looking cell developed on the southern tip... came out of nowhere to 67dbz in two scans.

The outflow boundaries and the lake breeze are about to collide. Things could get interesting here.

EDIT: They do look pretty outflow-ish. What part of the city are you in David? I'm on the lake up by Loyola. I'm going to head to the beach in a bit to get some lightning pics.

the lake breeze is going up now especially near hinsdale and Schaumburg. the storms have looked a lot less interesting on the recent SRV scans

I'm in the NW burbs. The storm is overhead. Nothing to write home about really. Very heavy rain, a few weak wind gusts, and barely any lightning. So much for outflow/lake interaction. Still got really dark though.

Radar now shows a disorganized convective blob, ugh.

nothing to write about on the nw side as well, had a lot of lightning though along with a nice shelf cloud and some gusty winds.
