This is a huge SLT Risk area, stretching from almost the Gulf Coast, all the way to the Canadian border, or from Jackson, MS to Rochester, NY! A very marginal threat for tornadoes, mainly in MS and LA, but the biggest threat will be damaging winds, with the greatest threat in KY,TN,MS,LA,AR, and southen IL,IN, and OH. Not the best of instability, but a highly sheard atmosphere over a very large area, with some storms being able to tap into it, bringing damaging winds to the surface. Currently, storm are trying to get going in Central and Southern Arkansas, with a MD currently issued for a possible watch, probably after noon. Watching system just because its a slow time for severe storms.

New watch to be issued shortly for Arkansas and SE Missouri, possibly Western Kentucky and Tennessee. I believe this will be a tornado watch, given the highly sheared environment. Still a high damaging wind threat, essentially centered around Paducah, KY, and down to Memphis. The most severe activity will then shift towards a Nashville to Louisville line, pretty much along I-65. Watching for initiation in the next 2 hours.
