I will chase EVERY hurricane that meets my criteria:

I don't get off work until 6pm on Fridays, so it MUST make landfall within 30 miles of Galveston Texas so I can reach it quickly, and make it back home to be able to work on Monday.

It MUST make landfall within an hour either side of 11am on Saturday so I have time to drive there after work and get ready for it.

It MUST be over and moved out and all roads be made passable for me in my direction of travel no later than 5pm Sunday so I can make the drive back home to be at work on Monday.

It MUST be a cat 5 (maybe cat 4) to make it worth my time to drive so far for only 2 days because of work.

So, there we go. Do you guys think I'm asking for too much? LOL!!!! DANG IT, I'm so sick of work getting in the way of life!!!!!!

Mods - please move this if necessary to the proper forum

For those who will be chasing the Texas coast and streaming live video I may have a chance at an economic opportunity for you. Please PM me if you'll be chasing hurricane strength storms at any point along the Texas coast this season for more information.

I'll be covering the Wpac again this year and most likely intercepting typhoons in the Philippines, Taiwan, China and Japan. I'd love to go to Guam for one sometime too!

Like Josh, this is the only storm chasing I do. Experiences range very widely depending on the country with places like Taiwan and Japan carrying on as usual despite the ferocious conditions (I've popped into 711 for a coffee a couple of times during the passage of an eye.)
