NICOLLET, Minn. -- Already popular as a spot for pork chop feeds and trap
shooting, the Nicollet Conservation Club might soon be Minnesota weather
watchers' favorite place.
The site of the club is more prone to tornadoes than any other place in
Minnesota, according to VorTek, a company that makes weather tracking
software. Vortek gave the club the designation using data from 1950 to 2003.
Frank Tatom, who created the software, said a higher concentration of
tornadoes pass within a 20-mile radius of the site than anywhere else.
