• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Warning Lights

I'm gonna put a big rotating disco ball on top of my vehicle and have 6 amber spotlights on it.

I've often times felt exposed on the side of the road to drivers paying more attention to the storm than the road but luckily my Rodeo came equipped with a feature for just such a situation. It's a big red button on the dash that turns on the hazard lights... changed my life.

You must be one of those guys running hazard lights that slow down and pull off the road unexpectedly and without warning, because your hazard lights were on, your turn signals didn't work!

Not picking on you, just making a point. Many vehicles the turns and hazards use the same bulb and render your turn signals useless. I've had the above happen MANY times in front of me.

Yeah, I've seen that too David. I'm always very deliberate about turning them off before hoppin back on the road. Awesome tank explosion video by the way.

Nobody wants to do the Ghostbuster's thing, eh?

I think the siren alone on that thing would be enough of a warning for people, but then again they would probably think they were being warned from ghosts instead of tornadoes.;)

Just for those interested in massively overdone lighting, take a look at this ridiculous setup. What shocks me here, is it's for an actual legitimate civil service. How un-professional does that look?

It's possible that it's for public events, but even still, holy s***!

The Lubbock EMS Fox trucks look a lot like that in lights. They have dual sirens I believe too. You do NOT miss them coming!

Ya, that many lights is crazy. Once I'm a volunteer FF i'll probably run led windshield, headlight wig-wags and around here, they require some sort of lightbar on top, probably just get a mini led bar. I will however run dual sirens. Being able to respond code 3 with a phaser and hi-lo running get's people's attention quickly.

I've been on ride-alongs with my friend here in town numerous times, he runs dual sirens and clears traffic with ease..
