• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Warning Lights

I like the first idea. But there would be complications... Do we really want to make sections regarding speeding, blowing through lights, going the wrong way on a highway, getting too close, and all of the other wonderful things we chasers have to discuss?

Oh, come on now Connor...you couldn't POSSIBLY have any specific recent chasers in mind, that happened to be doing all that in a Camaro? Naw...you haven't seen anyone do that stuff actually LOL!

As far as lights go, I purchased an old Broadway marquee for my rooftop. Still trying to figure out what I'll have it say as I'm chasing though.

Ya, I'm pretty well aware of that. I'm saying there should be a sticky saying so. Sounds like people ask on a regular basis what the legality is, uses, etc.

Kyle....hang around awhile...you'll get a better feel of the board....in due time my friend, in due time.

A sticky is not necessary. All they have to do is use the SEARCH button.

I agree totally. However, if people keep posting threads about it, apparently they aren't using search..

But I guess in the same sense, if they aren't using search chances are they won't read the sticky either. :p

You guys know what a Lightbar chaser convergence at night looks like?

In all seriousness tho. Auto makers knew that there would be emergencies on the road and thus was the reason for emergency lights. They are very effiecient in alerting others of an emergency whether your stuck in the mud, have a flat tire or are just broke down. People will notice these and will know to get out of the way.

18, oops, 17 more posts to go....we can do it!

ah....you guys let me down....what happened....arrrggg....Well lets shot for 100 by noon tomorrow....LOL. These thread is very good entertainment. I hope it's helping some of those stuck out in the plains waiting for the ridge to break.

Something like this was already done, observed about 4-5 years ago using an LED marquee sign. Unfortunately, I didn't get pictures, but the thing on the roof looked something like one of these:

I'm sure someone on this forum also spotted them. I wonder who they were and why they needed to draw so much attention to themselves rather than making the storm chase about the storms?

Forget lightbars, its all about 2+ million candlepower spotlights!

I plan on mounting 5 of these on my roof. If theres a tornado at night, its not hiding from me!

Another good idea I have entertained was to mount some lasers and Vari-Lites on a vehicle along with a high wattage PA sound system and go around the Plains continuously playing Dark Side of the Moon, treating everyone to a mobile Pink Floyd Laser Light Show!
