• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Unlimited wireless internet for $20 a month w/o contract

Yea but there is a connection fee and the rate is much higher with Verizon. Anyhow, I'm going with alltel since I last wrote. I renewed my contract (already had phone service through alltel) and got a phone that can tether with my pc. So I'll be adding the data feature soon. If I can't get the data through them next year (because of all the merging stuff), oh well, I'm out the cost of the tethering cord and software ~$30.

Thanks Charles,

I just called Verizon and found that they do have month to month if you have your own device. Anyone had success with a specific Verizon card?

I went to the AT&T store the other day... and as far as I know there was no was to have internet without a contract through them. I even asked about buying the usb device full price to avoid a contract...

Note: This forum was started because of the unlimited data through the go phone. As far as I know they canceled this deal a few months ago after I did some research.

Thanks I appreciate it guess I'll just have to pick one and hope I'm making a good decision but right now based on the map AT&T shows I'm leaning toward them.

You paid $30 for software than you can get for free and the cable is about $2 shipped

oh well, better than spending $200 on an air card. Atleast this way I can get them to help me with setting up the tethering, instead of like the last time I bought a cord through ebay and had the cell provider say we can't help you because we don't usually do that.

Looking at all my options I think my best bet is to go ahead and rent a card through a company for my 1 week chasecation.
That being said, it looks like Sprint and Verizon are my two best options.

I've heard pretty good reports on Sprint, anyone had success or failure with Verizon?
