• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

According to the Weather Graphics website, the Severe Storm Forecasting book is almost here. They are taking pre-orders and it will ship on 6 Dec. (assuming there are no delays in production)

I have Tim's Storm Chasing Handbook (2nd Edition) and the Weather Map Handbook (2nd Edition) and both are excellent books. I heard that Tim will be selling this new release at the ChaserCon in Feb, but I need something to study between now and then, so I'm adding this to my list for Santa.

Looking forward to the new book Tim!
Bryan

P.S. I debated whether to post this in the Equipment, Weather & Chasing, or Educational forum. If I got it wrong, please move it to the right place.

I'll probably buy it later this winter. I have most of his other books, and they are fairly informative.

Has anyone purchased their copy yet? How is it? I'm considering the purchase. I'd like to know how the information is. I'm sure its excellent, but never hurts to check. I have Tim's Storm Chasing Handbook and really like it, but thought it lacked a little in the forecasting aspect (hence this book I guess).

Hope everyone is well.

I'm about 80 pages in and I love it. There seems to be a wide range of information from novice to expert...and that I like. There is a ton of information in this book and I have been looking for something like this for a long time. It trumps the Storm Chasing Handbook (in my opinion) for forecasting. If you are new to chasing...get them both. I can't wait to finish it and recommend this book to any chaser of any experience level.

Ordered mine and am waiting very patiently for it. Can't wait to give it a read! I'm pretty solid on forecasting and such already, but it'll be a great cure for SDS and I'm' almost certain I'll learn at least something (but most likely a whole lot) from one of the best.
