Ever have 6th sense about something, or maybe its just that at some point for whatever reason (maybe its a slow build up and then one little thing sets it off) you get the feeling that Spring is "here". It doesnt neccessarily take a severe wx event to make "it" Spring. Maybe its just the fact you begin to notice the higher sun angle, the fact that hmm that last system with all its dynamics, didnt drop temps like last couple have, or....the fact that the calender just says its 2nd last week of February.

For me it started yesterday with the Daytona 500-a landmark on the calender so to speak.
Or maybe it was me having a deja vu from last February when there were 2 seperate. severe wx/tornado days in the Plains at the end of month.
Or was it the fact that YET AGAIN we had ANOTHER day of long tracked tornadoes this month. I bet the folks in Enterprise will forever set their clocks by latter half of February.
Or maybe its the fact Im getting overwhelmed with meteorology from my classes this semester. And along those same lines, I have quite a few nutso's in my class with regards to chasing, in other words, I got some real chase fanatics in my class.

Can we say..."Parcel theory?" How about theta-e? Oh oh I know...latent heat release

Or maybe its the fact I just happened to flip thru channels tonight and Oh what do you know, theres Reeds video on TV, ill be damn.
But heres what im thinkin......

Or maybe its the fact Im sooo ready for Shapiros first dynamics II exam (respectfully optimistic, never overconfident), which means I can skip one seeing as how exam days have notoriously fallen on chase days. :)

This IS the year I load up on chase gear. Im going all out this year equipping my vehicle and my electronics for all of 2008. Ive been putting this off year after year after year, but FINALLY, IT IS ON. And what a year to have it happen, the year is already off to a start the likes of which we havent seen in some time. See my post in chase partner thread for those looking for an intelligent passenger with technicians rating.

Ok...paper bag, im good...Reed, your awesome.

Ugg, the only cure for SDS.....is more cowbell...or just cows in general.

Easy for you say.... Lo's below zero next couple of nights here, hell hi on Wednesday won't reach double digits... In my book, spring doesn't start till April, maybe lucky if you get a couple days of spring in March, 3/12 and 3/28 quickly come to mind.

... I look out window: 40 inches of snow on the ground, temperature of 40F. (pretty warm)
More than 80 inches of snow in front of my house... -_-

I'm wit'cha, Chris. It's been blowing snow all afternoon and the temp at the Grand Rapids airport NWS right now is 14 degrees. You think I care? March is only two weeks away, and in that time we'll gain another half-hour of daylight.

I would have to agree with Chris as well, I have been getting antsy over the past few weeks, like i used to get when I was little before a storm. ANd my roomates have noticed to. I just have a this feeling like something big is on the horizon for chase season to get an early start here. Here's to hoping!

Not to make anyone lose any sleep but I wouldn't mind this pattern shift in 384 hours. I am just doing some late night February wishcasting ;)

Yeah, gotta agree on the premature sentiment that we are apparently in spring. I don't see any evidence of it apart from the extra half hour or so of sunlight at either end of the day that we seem to have acquired since Christmas, and the fact that our spring bulbs are battling their way out of the earth despite the fridig winds and below-freezing temps at night.

I'm in AR - and even so, with highs in the 40s and lows in the 30s forecasted through the rest of this week, along with the model outlook which only promises cold front after cold front after cold front - I am having a real hard time getting a whiff of spring anywhere.

Yeah, spring is not in the air here. -30 windchills forecasted for later tonight. Actual lows to -13 tomorrow night. 7" of glacier (not even calling it snow anymore, last week's huge rainstorm turned the snow into a hybrid ice/snow sheet), and no warm air in the forecast for the foreseeable future.

Man I cannot wait to see what 60 degree warmth feels like again!

I just had a blizzard last weekend and another Winterstorm possible this weekend. Windchills below 0 every night with highs in the single digits.

If Spring is here I have yet to see it. I remember having snow many times for Easter. Winter can easily show it's ugly head all the way into April so do not get our hope's up yet unless you live in the south.

One of the parts I love about Texas, it gets "springish" earlier in the year. Near 70 today with nice sun and felt really great to walk in the park! Very warm on the skin.

I know exactly what you mean. You walk outside on a sunny day and you can smell spring in the air as the snow melts away. Then again sitting below zero with a snow depth of 18" here in Wisconsin that day is a long way off. I had 8 inches of new snow and an hour of snow blowing to greet me before I could even get in the house after I came home from the chaser convention. Ahhh...the price we pay.

Man, you don't even realize how jealous I am of that. To go outside for any length of time without experiencing physical pain would be a wonderful experience at this point lol. 70° sounds fantastic.
