• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Good day all,

With upgrading to Vista 64 and also still using XP Pro, I am ready to use Sony Vegas (upgrade to that, instead of my "ancient" Premiere 6.5 SD).

I noticed 2 things, when ready to order...

1). The $499 price for Vegas 8 jumped to $549 (Inflation?)

2). They announced Vegas 9, but it's not out until after May 10.

Has anyone beta / trial-used Vegas 9?

Is Vegas Pro 8 with it, or should I go with 9 when it comes out for a bit more?

I am a bit weary about jumping on new software versions just when they come out because of bugs.

I heard Adobe CS3 (and especially CS4) is "over-priced" bloat-ware now.

Any thoughts?

you can download vegas pro 8 right now and run on the trial eval period for 30 days i think. those of us that have ordered the v9 upgrade will have a chance to get it loaded and work with it. As for purchasing ver 8, I am sure there are retailers, both brick and internet that will be blowing out their inventory of v.8

Vegas 9 is turning into a pain to even get configured properly to start with without going through the Sony 'readme bible' step by step by step and reconfiguring everything......I was going to ask if there was anything better for HDV (Sony FX7) which doesn't spend all its time refusing to put one foot in front of the other <sigh> - not often I'm beaten by software, but I'm losing atm.....on 10 hours of video to go through
