Rhino Lining your chase vehicle

Verne: Any post-season pictures to share?

Also...when you did the windows...did you consider tinting them. I'm actually considering doing it now too (as it looks like I'll be keeping my ride). But I want to be "stylin" with tinted windows (actually for functional reason...and security). I figure it wouldn't be an issue, or perhaps the lexan can be purchased tinted. My lexan source in that case would be the local Metrorail system backstock of their windows, but are used, but also a bit thick.

Well let's see, I got close behind this tornado: http://stormchaserco.blogspot.com/2010/05/2010-05-10-report.html

In the middle of this one:

And into baseball hail on this day:

The front windshield is the only one that is stock and that one did not survive the hail. It is still useable but has two cracks across it and will be replaced when it starts to block my video too much.

The 7 other side and rear windows that I had security laminated held up great to hail and flying tornado debris and did not get blown out on the May 10th Wakita tornado that took out all the windows in the F5 Tornado Tours van.

The Rhino lining REALLY WORKS WELL! I have NO new dents or scratches. It is not fading or peeling away anywhere on the vehicle.

That is about the coolest car I have seen yet !!!. Ya' know, the car companies are missing something..They should offer that car to chasers and New York City drivers..

Nice job! Thanks for sharing

I may be forced to do the undercarriage on my car. Two outings playing in the mud and I've already ripped my CV boot and recently ripped the steering boot. After pressure washing the undercarriage, I also pressure washed off most of the undercoating. Damn. I'll probably do the DIY version some of the other Subie owners have done (see link I posted earlier). Probably not as strong as Rhino, but a bit less than the $1000+/- Verne dropped.

Verne (or any subie owner for that matter), I would recommend the skid plates too. I didn't realize how delicate the boots are.

I wonder how Rhino applies over existing hail damage (1-2 inch dings).

I have just over $4000 in damage on mine and i was told it would fill right in. I have appointment scheduled for monday. The price range was ridiculous. I got quoted as high as $2500. I remembered a local shop that did the inside of a vehicle for me back in 96 and told them i wanted the top, hood, and pillars and even a trim piece on the front that keeps coming loose done and he quoted me $350. I about crapped my pants.

Have had Line-X Xtra on my rig for two years now. Got it to keep the rock chips and rust at bay. Still has that day after shine too....

Well this is what mine looks like. Its covering all the parts i previously had damage. Gonna go a cheapskate and do the front by hand. I know it wont look near as good but again, im cheap. It has 5 coats or about the thickness of a quarter. Around 1.75mm.
