I am wondering if someone could give me a rough estimate for a typical rate of ascent in the tropics (in say the rising branch of the Hadley cell) and how this compares to the rate of ascent sometimes noted in convective supercells.
I am currently studying Meteorology at Reading in England and am struggling to find consistency within my lecture notes or from that available online.
