Great product Joe. I have the Hero also and am having the same problems you mention. Not a big deal though. Can't wait to check out some storms on it.

A little something new...
The current work in progress now showing the initial display of SpotterNetwork users.
As it stands now, larger green dots are within the past 15 minutes. Smaller yellow dots are >15 mins old.
Labeling remains an open item as label bitmaps take a lot of memory. Something that can hopefully be eased into as other important things are added....albeit labels probably won't make it into the next release.

Oh, I'd like to do that, but I'm sure you don't want software that force closes when you select a new product! Really, I'm still working on it and have no set time to deliver although I'd really like to get it out as soon as possible. I work on it several hours each day. Still, I'd much rather make it available when its ready with quality than to prematurely push it out. At least I'm in the clean-up phase of development. My goal is to get what I have out then start working on the next set of features.
Oh, BTW, for those of you who acquired the program via AppsLib, please message me privately.

Just bought PYKL3 a few days ago. I really like it and I must say, this has a LOT of potential. Really looking forward to the future releases. Keep up the great work!

Glad you like it. I've enjoyed (and continue to enjoy) creating it! I am fortunate to have a lot of great users who make suggestions about functionality. Some things are easier to implement than others, but I do what I can. There is a great deal more that isn't on the queue page that I'd like to do, but that can be done as the core application is further refined. Some times, things, seemingly simple, end up taking lot more time to figure out from a programmatic perspective...thus why it has taken almost two months since the last release. There are similarities on the surface, but under the surface, its an entirely new program designed to expand based on the requests I've received. Truly, working together with the user community makes for an enhanced product.
Just a few requests for all...please do not use it while driving! It's mobile, portable, and convenient...but just be safe! If you chase, be extra careful out there and MANY as many out there are running on adrenaline. It's not like it was 20-30 years ago when seeing another chaser was sparse! And PLEASE report what you see to the National Weather Service either in real time or later that evening (don't forget!) It does more good than you might realize. Learn and utilize the submit storm report gesture...they will see the report you make via their chat client.

If any of you elect to use PYKL3 in tomorrow's moderate, please let us know how it worked for you. If you encounter anything negative, please let me know directly so I can work to address the issue. I've also added a link on the PYKL3 Radar site to download the demo for those of you with Android devices that do not use Android Market or Appslib.

A treat for the PYKL3 Radar users. I've modified and uploaded the FREE version such that, upon upgrade, the default (and only radar supported) will be Little Rock for tomorrow's risk. There's no guarantee that the free version will stay there, but I figured that more people could better evaluate the program tomorrow and to say thanks for all the support!

Joe, I am planning on getting your PYKL3 app tomorrow when I get my new Droid Galaxy S in. I wanted to ask if the app is good to go for the new 2.2 Froyo OS that is going to be officially releasesd tomorrow.

I know of no restrictions on 2.2 in running the program in fact there are several users runing 2.2. There have, however, been some users not being able to find the app (usually temporarily) on Android Market after upgrades until something gets synced on the marketplace. If this is the case, your best course of action is to query your mobile's support team to get things corrected. That said, if you're planning to use the device in the next few days and are on 2.1 currently, just to be safe, I'd wait until you were not going to need the program for a few days before performing the upgrade for that reason.

Actually, not too bad. I actually don't plot the radar data during resizing so it helps a lot.
