• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Max Amp or WeBoost

As promised I wasn't going to wait another year for a cellphones amp. I got the willison and I have tested it in all the dead zones I chase in most often. Western KS, Western OK and Eastern Co as well as up in the Rockies and I am very very happy with the way it preformed. Wishing I had made this move 3 year ago instead of waiting on the other amp to come out. $600 well spent in books and will now be buying 2 more for the rest of our cars.
Glad you are happy with it Steve. They're quite a investment, and thus need to do the job.

Hi Steve, which Wilson amp did you purchase? I'm looking into the weboost (wilson) 4g-x.

I went with the 4G-X. I was live streaming and posting pictures up in the Rockies south west of Denver with it. Don't fall for the old story that so & so`s is better because if it`s not on the market it cant be better ;) The FCC says what everyone can make so with that said just get the 4G-X and be a happy camper :D The whole RV kit only cost me $600.

Does the RV kit have additional equipment in it? I found the regular 4G X for $479.

I could probably get by with the 4G-S (single device) just for my hotspot. Everything connects to it anyway. Any reviews? $200
It works great also. I modified mine to hold my phone and jetpack. Just have to see where your antenna is on the device and get that side the closest. I used Allen wrenches to extend it down, then earth magnets. You'd think that would screw something up. But I've done it to several devices, including my current one.

I have the older version of the Wilson Amp and LOVE it. I have a larger 12inch antenna. I would be curious what others are using!

Same here...Sleek 4GV. Only time I've really lost signal is when I'm out in the BFE mountains camping. Almost never lose coverage on the plains. I also upgraded my antenna to probably the same one you have, Eric.

Wilson Electronics 301103 Tri Band (800/1900 MHz) Magnet Mount Antenna with FME Female Connector and 10-Foot RG174 Coax Cable

how about you guys

I don't have the 4g-x yet. It seems like most people agree that the amp is great and the stock antenna is fine... but everyone has purchased an aftermarket antenna :) I'm going to try the stock antenna until someone convinces me that I need an aftermarket one.
