Max Amp or WeBoost

Guess I just got lucky. I tested this in a national forest and got it down to -124 trying to lose signal and it still boosted right back when turning it on. This was when I found a safe spot to pull over. Was still less than 104.

I for one am looking to upgrade from my "Rockies" amp. It's done the job for sure. Just time for new technology to match my service with Verizon. As others have said Gordon, thanks for innovating spirit, and all you've gone through. I'm confident the wait will be worth it for us all. :)

If you be so kind as to post the video of the proof on YouTube, I'd appreciate it.

Verizon does not distribute their testing Videos to the public. It was done at and around their testing facilities in Wyoming. Stick with your WEBoost there Rusty . I know where your bread is being buttered . No problem . I was invited to observe as we have always had a relationship them We have always cooperated with the carriers in our design process. So our equipment does not have adverse effects on their network. Our competitors have not done this. Basically till now have not cared what effects they had on the carriers networks . That is all changing now as the FCC has given the carriers permission to regulate the equipment being used on their networks. That is why all the new regulation have been implemented.

So i am a bit of a noob here so chalk my comments up to ignorance! I owed both the rockies amp and loved it. I love chasing, its an amazing hobby. I dont get paid to chase, I just do it for the fun and experience. When I chase I need cell coverage. I switched to the Wilson Cradle 2 seasons ago simply because it was the best tech available at the time. Gordon, as chasers we need cell coverage. You know this...its not a surprise. You seem to want to get upset at people for buying a competitors product while they waited for yours. Once your product is out, we will all read the reviews and evaluate it. If its better, (and I imagine it will be) we will consider making the shift to that product if we still have needs in this area. As someone who has bought your product before, its just disappointing to see you take shots at people for buying products from competitors while your still in development.

Not upset about people buying competitors product . Upset when people lie about performance because Weboost gives them free product. I have supported the storm chasing community for years such as this site and the annual convention. Please list Wilson / Weboost's contributions. Believe me it has not been lucrative. But I believe in what Stormchasers do and support their service to the Public

I'll post this because Weboost (formerly Wilson) has never given me a single thing, but I've bought half a dozen of their boosters and several antennas over many years and have had really zero complaints with any of them. My current one I got last January right before they changed the name.

I did use a Wilson NMO antenna instead of the default magnetic one that came with it.

This year I put on right at 25,000 miles through large parts of Texas, eastern NM, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, western Missouri, eastern Colorado, Wyoming and South Dakota. Some of those challenging, extremely rural places for cell signals. I have a Verizon phone and a Verizon datacard, and have had several people with me that had both Sprint and ATT devices, so I've had extensive testing of this booster on three different networks in real world conditions.

I can tell you for fact there were very, very few times there was no signal. One notable one for me was the notorious hole down around Brady, TX which has a big white spot on Verizon maps anyway. No booster is going to create a signal where there is none. We even had cell coverage with it driving up Pike's Peak road and was streaming video live from the top.

Couple small places in Wyoming and South Dakota in the mountains where there were white spots on Verizon's map. In all the other places and miles, there was ALWAYS signal, and good signal too. The booster has worked without flaw, and every single time since the first time I powered it up. I'd buy another one of the new name and model today if I needed one. The only other booster I have owned in my life was a Maximum Signal, and that was not a positive experience for me.

David, thanks for posting this response. I'm glad to read about personal experiences with these devices/companies. Does the weboost link I originally posted contain the newest version of the amp you got?

I will second Mr. Drummond's thoughts. I have you used those wilson/weboost products for the last few years and have had very good success. Like David i put almost 35k last year as I went pretty hard through virtually every plains/midwest state and had alot of success.. The only place I really seemed to struggle alot was Far East Colorado/Far Western Kansas.. That area is horrible.

That being said I am always willing to try something to improve.. I imagine with 5g on the way out and 4g getting more and more covered its just a matter of time that boosters will be less and less used.. We can only hope

My 4g-x is unreal. I do have a aftermarket antenna. That's probably why I've gotten over the 50 db gain a couple of times (disclaimer). I have att as my phone carrier and have it as a backup in case my Verizon jetpack loses service. I've never had too though, even in a couple of national forests. I did just a real short video with my phone doing the recording, so I apologize for the quality. I have lost service with att a couple of times when I turned the amp off in areas on their map that showed no service. Flipping the switch got it back and in a big way. The amp does get warm but I wired up a small fan and now you can barely tell it's on. Keep in mind that there's not much difference in performance at this particular location between the cheaper cradle ones and this one. Out in the more isolated areas is where it shines and I've already shown pictures of that. Anyways, here's the vid.
