• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Wow. Great aerials of the nh nader damage. I wonder how shocked the folks were to have a twister of that magnitude come through there. Looks like a narrow but intense and lengthy damage path. If you could have been in the right place I bet you could've gotten some nice shots.

Tornado in Cambridge, VT on July 18th

Slightly OT, perhaps, but seems relevant to the thread... the NWS has confirmed that we had an EF-1 tornado here in Vermont a couple of weeks ago.

Nothing like ya'll get in the Plains, but we've had some pretty dramatic (and beautiful) storms here this spring and summer.

On the subject of New England tornadoes, my husband was witness to the F-4 tornado that hit New Haven and Hamden, CT back in 1990. He didn't even know what was happening -- I'm the weather weenie, so the fact that the sky was green meant nothing to him  -- but he figured out it was something out of the ordinary when the skylights got sucked out of his apartment. When it was over, all of the storefronts directly across the street from his building had been destroyed.

Thanks for posting that VT write up, I spend a lot of time in VT but was unaware there had been a tornado recently. The New Haven F4, which was actually in '89, was what got me interested in chasing. I noticed the quarter to golfball size hail, and I might well have seen the tornado if I had made the effort to look out the window, but for very stupid reasons I just didn't. Afterward I was so upset that I missed it that I decided then and there that seeing a tornado was now a major goal of my life. Since then I've seen my share of tornadoes, mostly on the Plains, but if another storm like the '89 event should hit CT, I'll definitely be ready. It's interesting that while we don't get all that many tornadoes in CT, when we do get them they're often very powerful. The '89 storm, and the '79 F3 near Hartford are perfect examples.
