I was chasing in Kansas last week and what do you know? We got stuck in the mud and a local farmer had to pull us out. He pointed out two conventional homes nearby where he said they used to live and said they now lived up the road we needed to take to get back to the main road (we got stuck because a bridge was down on the dirt road we were on).

I saw their house, sort of. It was built half into the ground with a large grass berm all around it up to second floor level with just a gap cut in the front to enter. Presumably this was to make it more aerodynamic so the winds flow over it and cannot pick it up. Could not see what it was built from.
