Interesting Radar Presentation in Utah

Interesting NW-SE oriented bands of precipitation in SWern UT/Ern NV. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what is causing them.

If you can pull up a HR vis satellite loop, and look at a recent 00Z 500Mb upper analysis chart, I think you may see what I think I see... a shortwave developing in from the northwest over a low-level sw flow with enough juice and upslope advection to promote some gravity wave snow showers.

That wave is progged to spin-up another fairly vigorous cut-off over Arizona in a few days. More rain, and with luck enough helicity for a Sun City mini-meso or two.

This looks like the lake effect snow showers over the central New York fingerlakes region that can be seen currently on Binghamton's radar.
