• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

I am getting SDS treatment right now

A cumulonimbus cloud has appeared from out of nowhere over Laguja village. I have it on my weather cam. It has been hazy all day. This is not a thunderstorm.

More after this cloud passes. I am shooting it with my webcam right now.

Technically, a cumulonimbus cloud is indicative of a thunderstorm event. Are you certain this is not producing lightning? If it appeared out of nowhere it is indicative of a strong cap hat has been broken - would like to see some screenshots of this cloud.

Not to make a big thing about this, but I'm quite sure Tarmo is entitled to call a non-lightning producing cloud of suitable characteristics a cumulonimbus. While some popular sources equate them with thunderstorms, the most authoritative definition I found (from the AMS glossary) doesn't do that http://amsglossary.allenpress.com/glossary/search?p=1&query=cumulonimbus&submit=Search

Glad you're getting some action, Tarmo! Dynamics are looking up in the states as well.

I am certainly not doubting Tarmo's report as I am not there... I have a genuine interest in seeing this and just am curious how he is certain it is not a thunderstorm. :)

I've always been a structure fanatic and would love to see a shot of this feature.

I have a posted a page about this event on my weather site. If link doesn't open, try again - that's just my host. Note: I started shooting when the cloud was overhead.

Well, I don't know what to think. I hardly remember such case like today. At times, I saw enhanced cumulus parts of these clouds, but now it seems to be calm again. Clouds are really, really strange. I attached a radar image from Latvian local weather service when this happened. I am in southwestern Estonia at 58.16°N 26.45°E. Radar is indicating indeed some rain. You can watch Latvian weather radar here (Estonia does not provide it for free)

Edit: Something appears to be going on. 1615Z Satellite report indicated CB clouds over southern Estonia.
