My name is Chris Harrell and I am from Waxahachie, TX. I got my first serious interest in storm chasing in February 2008 and immediately read the online version of the Basic Skywarn Spotter training class and a week later attended a local Skywarn Spotter training class.
I met up with Erik Burns in Lewisville for my first chase on March 2, 2008 and we chased in and around Altus, OK. It was a great first chase for me even without a tornado, as I got to see some very great storm structure and great photos at that!
That chase changed everything. I began reading every little bit of information I could find. I started forcasting in late March and have been pretty accurate so far. Still a lot of room for improvement of course! The advanced storm spotter training was the next stop, even though it didn't teach me anything new, but the certificate was still nice to have
I've since been on a few other chases and met some other chasers out in the field such as Reed and Amos. Every chase a great and unique experience...except for May 10 (I hate SE Oklahoma!). Just wanted to drop in and introduce myself and hopefully become and active participant in the Stormtrack community.
