hd camcorders is it worth it?

My next upgrade might be a 3 ccd chick camcorder. A hd camcorder I am not sure whether it is really worth it or is it ? I will read the recent summaries about the HD camcorders. Thanks

I got Canon HV20 yesterday (leaving home today for coming to Tornado Alley) and as far as user interface is concerned Canon seems to crush Sony's complex touch-screen menu like train crushes car.
