• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Arkansas is the home of Tyson and there are a lot of chicken farms there as a result. There may be a price increase in eggs after the tornadoes that hit down there the other day. Do what you will with that information, but I will be buying an extra dozen this week before the price can go up.

While a lot of people think that wall to wall coverage is overkill, what about the poor person who comes in from the barn and turns the tv on 30 seconds after a weather update?

Wall to wall coverage of a tornado event is expected, not overkill. I'm curious what markets don't do that (if we do in Michigan, I'd expect it most other places too...) As others have pointed out, OKC goes wall-to-wall for non-severe storms too. That seems overkill to me.

I wonder if some of the "others" could point out specific examples of wall to wall coverage for non severe storms down here. In the 15 years I have been chasing for KWTV I don't recall a single example of being involved in or seeing wall to wall for non severe events (for us anyway). I can't speak for the other guys, but if there are instances of WTW coverage for non severe events, they are very few and far between.

On May 27,1997, the Jarrell tornado, I remember 1 media outlet doing nonstop coverage of the event. Since it started in S. McLennan Co. (Waco), there was one local channel that followed it nonstop from the time the 1st tornado dropped, and stayed with it all the way into Jarrell, which is more of the Austin area. We got to see some dramatic footage of the Jarrell F-5 as the events unfolded that day. Dallas channels do some live streams, but it's not popular down here in the smaller markets.
