• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Hopefully everyone accepts my apology and we can get off on a better foot now. And hopefully it cleared up some confusion there may have been? I'm glad to be on here

Thank you and i'll keep that in mind. On my youtube videos (or anywhere else for that matter), any advice I can get will help me in the long run. Now that I understand what you guys were trying to do i'll be a little more open to criticism too ;)

Hi Chris and welcome to Stormtrack. This is one of the best forums for learning about severe weather, forcasting, chasing etc and Tim Vasquez's storm chasing handbook and forecasting book are also great learning tools.

Have a nice day.

Well, MIDSCAR1...you stock has gone up for having the courage to come on here and face your critics.

You can learn a lot from these guys...esxpecially those in your area.

And now you are know as the kids that want to build the "Blue Shoe".
Good luck and good hunting.

And there is no Mike at ChaserTV management.
EDIT: Adam beat me to it.

I guess I was mistaken. I know I talked to a person from Chasertv on Reed Timmer's site. Had a nice conversation, and got me to see how someone who has been watching saw how I acted. Then directed me over here. Next time i'll ask his name ;)

I guess that's a good way of putting it. I'm open to constructive criticism. It'll help me in the future at least

EDIT: Mike Scantlin is the one I talked to. Sound familiar at all?

Thats the way to be. Believe me you're not the first person to come under fire for wrong-doings. This is a small community and we all know who each other is for the most part.

You were heading down a dangerous path of over-selling yourself before you built up credibility. Some aren't so fortunate in being told so early and become permanently "outsed" by the chaser community.

Theres no shame in being new and uneducated but its a serious issue when those people try to act at an experienced level. We have a real problem with that around here...respect has to be earned in this game. Being a self proclaimed chaser alone wont cut it...and the common interest in storms doesn't mean people here will automatically like you lol...its kind of sad but thats the way it is.

At least I was stopped early because being outted by the chaser community would be a big blow. I will admit i was wrong in some of the things I said and didn't mean to come across as more experienced than I really am. I know for a fact I have a very long way to go, and I ALWAYS learn SOMETHING on a chase. I think that would go for anyone.

Respect has to be earned...just like in real life. You don't get respect...you EARN it

Chris, glad that you're at least owning up to your inexperience. Like most have said, respect has to be earned around here. Glad that you're trying to do it the right way. Welcome to the board!
