• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Anyone know the diameter of a Euro coin off the top of their head ;)

0153 195 MAYSVILLE GARVIN OK 3482 9741 HAIL WAS ABOUT TWICE THE DIAMETER OF A 1 EURO COIN. REPORTED BY A METEOROLOGIST FROM MUNICH GERMANY. (OUN)

And do UK spotters refuse to offer hail measurements in euro? :)

Actually, what does the UK use? You have more choices of coins over there - I still have a drawer full. It's increasing in value practically every day.

I guess the German, and most Europeans, don't want to weigh down their pockets with our insignificant currency. It would probably be more valuable to stuff their pockets with corn.

Keep those Coins Mike for your next trip, our £ goes a long way when we come over Stateside, looking forward to it this year we arrive on Sunday and dont go back until June 2nd :D

In the Uk we tend to measure in much smaller quantities, recently had Marble sized hail last week, but last year we had Golfball Sized Hail near Canterbury (Kent) from a Supercell on July 15th 2007.

Dont know what the largest size is, one of the Torro Boys will have the record size for the Uk

Hi there,

A Euro is Just about an Inch in diameter. So these must have been 2" Stones

Paul Sherman
______________________________________________________________ That would be about right......I have a 13 hail dings in the hood of my 08 Expedition that match up to 2" hail stones. Nice LP storm....but it went from pea size to golfball to bigger in 2 minutes time. LP's are notorious for doing that. I didnt see the baseball hail....but that was intentional....

Hi guys,

the report was from us. We´re stormchasers from Munich, Germany and had this lucky catch because we just arrived a few hours before at DFW airport and were heading for the dryline bulge.

We only had some Euro coins that evening as we hadn´t already spent some Dollars. But I´d prefer not having corn in my pockets except if the inflow is blowing it into it. Staying in Vernon, TX right now in crappy tstm mess...

Best regards,
Lars
