Chase vehicle...what's yours for 2005?

Without further ado, I present to you, Lieutenant Dan!

Four SCREAMING cylinders of power! Yessir, at one time, under this hood, this car had nearly a HUNDRED HORSES! (Several of the horses have since passed on, but Lieutenant Dan can still outperform many riding lawn-mowers!) Top speed of NEARLY 90 miles per hour DOWNHILL!

[Broken External Image]:http://chakalakasp.cliche-host.net/stormtrack/car/carside.jpg

POWERFUL electrical system that can ALMOST run an inverter and the air conditioner at the SAME TIME!

[Broken External Image]:http://chakalakasp.cliche-host.net/stormtrack/car/carinside.jpg

LUXURIOUS interior that nearly allows you to strech out your feet! (Unless, like me, you're nearly six feet tall.) One nearly functional cassette player!

That's right, this car is a trooper! Lieutenant Dan may not have any legs, but he sure gets around.

I got my Expedition and starting to gear it up for the 2006 chase season. I've already installed my laptop GPS in it and I have attachments coming for my roof rack so I can create a mobile mesonet.

Also in the works includes getting the Joto desk for the laptop and work on mounting my scanners.

This season I'll be chasing once again in my modded 2003 Freelander. I have installed a lift kit, and larger tires on the vehicle to get a little bit more ground clearance and traction on wet roads. As well as installing brush bars and extra lighting. I figured the AWD would be a good idea. Installed in and on the vehicle are a Radioshack Pro-93 800mhz scanner, Motorola 70cm radio, Icom 2m radio, Daqpod connected to the laptop for data acquisition / humidity, dewpoint, pressure, temperature, etc, as well as the RM Young anemometer for windspeed and direction. I also have mobile internet, GPS mapping and logging, lightning detection and I'm working on doing live webcasts via a pan-tilt CCD camera mounted to a secure housing on the roof of the vehicle which should be up in the next couple of weeks. I Figured I would pop some pictures on here just for the curious. I'm sure it's nothing any of you haven't seen before.. Just another car with gizmos! Hope everyone has a fun and safe season! :)

As of right now, I'm using my '03 Kia Spectra as a chase vehicle. I just bought a '98 retired police package crown vic, and should have that on the road within the next couple of days...still have some wiring issues to work through and some amateur radio equipment to install which is an easy 1-2 hour job. I will try to get some pics posted when it's all finished.
