Yet another tropical cyclone in a continuing pattern.

Interesting, the 18z GFS has finally picked up the system. Around 300+ hours the storm is swept away by a strong trough, in a pattern similar to Earl. We will see if the fortunate trough timing continues.

The climatological peak in Atlantic TC activity isn't for another couple of weeks.

Ah, oui oui, c'est vrai que Gaston sur le telephone and he's saying he wants to shop at the Herbert box store and be a CAT 3-5 taking a vacation Westward bound through the Caribbean, Florida, and the GOM.

Poor Gaston. From great expectations of 100 mph within a few days to a dead duck. NHC has declared him only a "REMNANT LOW." What a swing. Not a single red bit of convection in the water vapor shot:

As NHC has mentioned in the last discussion on Gaston, dont give up on it yet. Could very well regenerate in coming days. I think it still might have some hope yet as conditions may become a bit more favorable early next week as it reaches a weakness in the shear zone.

Oh so typical ... If its coming RIGHT AT US ... It dissipates.

If it recurves / misses us ... It's a monster for the fishes.

I was so devastated seeing "Last advisory issued for Gaston" after lunch today that I got sick and had to go home early.

Unlike 2009, 2010 has the storms, but none of them are hitting anywhere you can chase!

Maybe God does not want a hurricane chasing event this year...

Opposite to my last post, Gaston is making a comeback.

NHC center is very fickle at "saying" it's back to TS status just yet.

By the looks of it on Sat, it's TS, no doubt.

I am oh so happy, like a kid in a candy shop, this is coming back to life.

look slike GASTON has fizzed out - to much dry air right now .. if only GASTON can hold together for another 12 hours he will be through the dry air

The 12Z GFS (9-04-10) at 200 hrs. + (Monday the 13th.) has a tropical cyclone impacting South Florida.

Long way out, but the tropical models are in general agreement of a supporting path if the system holds together. There is a trough forecast to the north, but it does not appear to be a game spoiler ATM.

I think this is one to keep an eye on.

I hope this is not why the storm is struggling and so weak ... I want to chase a hurricane, not have a weekend / traffic commute that monday fouled up.
