• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

LOL...you bet me to it....Gotta love an official news release on this. Hope it comes in time for chase season, and is at least as decent as the 3gs (4g isn't that special).

my news came via CNBC:

I hope a Verizon iPad will be soon to follow.

I won't believe it until I see it on sale. Every few months a news report comes along "citing multiple insider sources" that a Verizon iPhone is coming within "xxx months" or "early next year," and it never happens. The magical date comes, and nothing can be found.

It's easy to say. However, WSJ usually a little more reliable with it's sources.

Only time will tell I guess...I'm happy with my Droid so I'm not to concerned either way. Looking forward to Mike's radar app for the Droid and then I will be good to go :)

The iPad would be pretty cool Jason. I've been considering looking into something like this though (since I don't have much money to play with):

Not necessarily. The WSJ has run this story a few times already earlier this year, and a few times last year and obviously none of those panned out. What makes me doubt this is that the article states Apple is readying a CDMA iPhone which really makes no sense. Why make a CDMA device for a network that is on the verge of abandoning CDMA technology in favor of LTE? If this were going to be a 4G phone, then it cannot be CDMA. My guess is that it is for some other asian markets that use CDMA. If I'm not mistaken I believe the largest carrier in China uses CDMA and have yet to get the iPhone, so my guess is that's what this is all about. But like others have said, time will tell.

I'm a huge Apple fan, and I will probably become one of the last people on the planet to get a cell phone before the chase season in 2011 (hey! I pretty much hate talking on the phone and don't WANT to be contacted anytime anywhere) but even if I have the choice of an iPhone with Verizon, I have the feeling I'll be going with an Android phone. I'm also curious as to where the App Inventor will be by then. App Inventor has been described as Hypercard for Andoid (means nothing to those of you not old enough to remember Hypercard). :)

Not sure if this means anything for the 'iPhone on Verizon patiently waiting customer', BUT they did just announce today that the iPad will be sold through Verizon starting at the end of October. Looks like it will be bundled with a Verizon MiFi with various data packages. No contract either just like with ATT. Interesting, no?

No ;)

Who wants to carry a MiFi around with them whenever they want to access the Internet?

I suspect this is just to circumvent the AT&T exclusive agreement for now. The MiFi would be a good option if you had mutiple iPads/iPods (or even a traditional laptop) and wanted to be online.

I still think iPad 2 will so much better I am still going to wait.
