9/17/04 FCST: Karl (Atlantic)

Karl seems to be on the verge of becoming our next Atlantic hurricane. Winds are at 65 mph, with gusts to 75 mph. And with all that open water ahead of it, I wonder how strong it will get.

What a wild hurricane season this has been. :shock:

Looks like the 5-day track takes this back out to water posing no threat to land. Good news for Florida!

Where ever it's going, it sure powered up quickly. It was barely a depression yesterday. There was just a report of a possibly developing depression near the Cape Verde Islands. yesterday. Now it's almost a 'cane!

These are pretty common. It is progged to move north into cooler waters and weaken. Every so often these things hold together and drift around the middle Atlantic, wreaking havoc on shipping.

Karl is still very intense. It is now progged to head due north, into the Grand Banks.
