8/17/04 NOW: Midwest/Great Lakes

Storms hnow developing over the Great Lakes... Nice bow echo getting ready to cross Lake MI -- the storms are moving into a rather favorable low-level airmass, with decent SBCAPE and good, unidirectional shear, favoring bow echoes/linear modes. Easily could get some damaging winds and large hail with this stuff....

We were under a storm watch and we were supposed to get storms and rain but it all slide to the south of Chicago! BUMMER!

Could see some of the storms off to the South and I saw some lightning flashes but other than that we got nothing.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day to see some storms!
