Just got out of the tornado shelter. The tornado stayed roughly 2 miles to my south. Really really caught me off guard...woke up to loud noise and sirens. Wow.

Tornado missed us by about two miles to our west and a mile to our north. Just got off the phone with Doug K and he's filming damage on the west side of town. Also says he has video of the power flashes as the tornado passed through. We had the RFD slam us here at the hotel and watched it knock out the power to our north; we flickered here at the Super 8 at the I-80/I-680 junction, but power held its own.

What an exciting night. Whew! Now I'm going to bed!

A possible tornado and strong rotation moving over the historic dutch town of Pella Iowa right now. Another tornadic storm with a hook on radar is in clarke county. SE Central Iowa looks favorable for a few tornadoes in the next hour.

Is anyone else looking at the radar form the Texas panhandle? 90 + dbz cores! > 4 inch hail! It looks like the radar is broken - the reflectivity is white all over the place. There must be some monter hail, MONSTER.

Amarillo doppler radar must be busted - there's a tvs right over the radar site with no storm!

Something's not right with AMA radar.
In regards to the cell of interest in OK, I'm anxious to hear ground-truth reports on that TOR-warned cell near Elk City! Very nice couplet!!!
EDIT - WOW, as soon as I look again, it appears that the CF has overtaken that cell and it has just been swallowed up into the line.

Great looking couplet just off the Caprock in E. Briscoe Co. TX...looks like something pretty serious is wrapping up to the northeast of Silverton in no-mans land.

And it continues to back build sitting in the same spot, puttin on a show.

EDIT: And now it's TOR warned.
AT 839 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A TORNADO. THE MOST DANGEROUS PART OF THIS STORM WAS LOCATED 8 MILES NORTH OF CAPROCK CANYON ST. PARK...OR ABOUT 14 MILES NORTH OF QUITAQUE...MOVING EAST AT 20 MPH. AT 840 PM CDT...SPOTTERS AND THE PUBLIC REPORTED A ROTATING WALL CLOUD WITH THIS STORM.
