Proof that a morning MCS can throw a wrench in the entire day. The CAPS model was the only one that had some sort of handle on the day with developing a MCS in iowa. Looking back for what happened in central wisconsin, the MCS developed enough clouds north that blocked sufficient heating and moisture transport. Models the day before were putting 90/70 dewpoints over the area and the area ended up with 86/65. Further north dew points mixed out to the low 50s which could have been a problem even if the MCS didn't evolve in Iowa. Didn't even bother heading out, I wasn't going to go chase a line down in southern wisconsin with a 15 knt shear environment.
