6/18/10 FCST: WI

I am liking SW IA along boundary with nice backed flow. RUC was showing a nice little 700 shortwave moving into western IA with a northeast KS surface low.

We have been playing with the line of training storms north of 20 in IA and will now be heading southwest. Hope my house near the Wisconsin Dells survives the day...

Has anyone else noticed the nice boundary that has set up along the IA-MO border and into SE NE? Pretty good CAPE building there with good backed winds to the north. As long as it moves north and can get out of the way of the capping to the southwest and under the better 500 mb flow, things could kick there soon. I'm planning on heading out with a few chase partners towards SW IA here soon.

I did Jeff. We are heading there today from Brainerd MN after getting within mere miles of the Wadena cell yesterday but not bagging the blame thing. Big CAPE today with the outflow boundary / boundaries from 2 MCSs going through the region last night. Wind fields are nice as well with backed winds in SW IA or NW MO. Good luck and yes, this area seems to have been overlooked today.
