Wow, the storms today have done more than the storms on Saturday and Sunday, and in environments that seem less favorable in many regards. Of course, storm mode and low-level boundaries are helping these storms out greatly.

SPC has put out a very localized 5% tornado prob in the path of the southbound wedding cake.

The SRH on this thing in the local environment has got to be absolutely off the chart!!

It will be interesting to see what happens when the northbound moving thunderstorm over Sublette merges with it.

Looks like the Garden City Storm is going to ingest the southern cell.

I think once the ingesting happens, there is gonna be a transition in convective mode, perhaps a quick HP to bow echo transititon. Still that was spectacular while it lasted.

Tornados today Sterley-Cedar Hill TX

Jeff & Terry Schenk filmed over eight tornados’ The storm was a tornado machine moved from Plainview turned ESE along the OFB and went crazy. Filmed two different wedge tornados at 100 yards from me. Two tornado's on the ground same time about three miles apart. The storm reach Paducah winds over 80 MPH with golf ball hail. Wind damage north side of town.

Very interesting how the left split from the Sublette storm pummelled the right part of the Garden City storm, but like the true champion it is, the Garden City storm turned or propagated to the right even more (southwest) to seek out the unstable air.

Yeah, the original supercell is looking for its own new inflow. There are about 4 cellular storms in that area now. The original "Garden City" storm has turned a total of 270 degrees since it initiated, now moving in a westerly direction.

Just a mesoscale paradise on the dryline today.

Phelps reports emergency vehicles in his vicinity. I wonder what happened. I would guess downbursts pushed vehicles off the roads.

Yep, fascinating stuff. Almost looked to me like those 2 cells did a little fujiwhara type dance around each other... Except as far as I know there is no such effect between rotating storms, only for hurricanes. So the question is, what kept the cells from merging?

I'm going to guess the strength of the individual updrafts and subsidence/high pressure around the storms. Also the upper level westerlies are clearly preventing updraft seeding. The original storm clearly wants to hook again. Some inbound pixels are showing up on the SRV again. I bet the structure still looks amazing even though its too dark to chase. Must have been paradise tonight. No chasing, just sit and watch. Looks like 2009 could be the year of the classic supercell and less messy HPs.

Also, I bet there is 3 locations under that blanket SVR that are going to have large hail piled up like snow, lol. Not to mention a flood risk. I'm worried about Sublette, that storm has stopped moving altogether.

I was on the storm as well, very awesome. I did run into a dairy farm that was hit by the tornado. Cows killed and or had metal chop them up. Very sad sight.

BTW, US-83 is still closed due to lines down.

What happens if the boundary layer decouples and the southward moving supercell that took over the former Garden City cell stops moving and then starts drifting east right over Sublette? Now that could be serious trouble on top of the 4.25" hail and torrential rain they received.

The answer is Lake Sublette, sorry that's not funny. Well its still quite amazing how all three cells are still completely discrete. Now they have a SWwd component to them. The middle cell still has a hook and a couplet.

Sublette looks like its gonna be out of the storms soon.
