Your right Alex and the southern cell is making a hard right turn. This is unfolding alot like the 5/4/07 event where the cap held most of the day and then storms fired right before dark. Also the development of these cells looks very similar too. Not liking the 850 mb winds though... still veering badly and only 20-25 knts. Might be a tor damper. How much rotation we got with this storm right now anyone on with GR3?

Alex was right the cell has split. After watching the loop of the phased array radar it looks like the right split is moving more ESE now. Interesting. Perhaps it will increase low level shear. Reed Timmer is right underneath the base and you can see it on his live tracker at tornadovideos.net

Ditto on the paper writing, ah well. With the cost of gas and the fact it's nighttime along with the added benefit of an exam tomorrow really made staying at home easy tonight. Right now the cell's north split has intensified some and is heading almost due north. Anywho, back to writing my paper as well :o

I think this one might have potential. Developing within an area of surface vorticity, and 0-3km cape around 125, sig tor parameter of 4, decent LFC around 1800 and LCL around 1000m. 81 over 68 just south. Hmm...

Left split cell moving into Cleveland Co. is starting to get itself a little better organized. Meanwhile, right split cell looking not so great on base reflectivity but has a nice little hail core now. Getting 65-70 dbz now at nearly 13000 ft.

Based on some mid-level slices...I'd say the left mover may split again shortly. Just a guess though...

Alex, nice call with the split. Nice hail spike it appears with the right mover on the previous scan too. I've been skipping back and forth between KTLX and KICT so I haven't been watching the whole show. When I saw a scan at 0123, I thought it looked weird, maybe less organized but then saw what it had up it's sleeve!

I couldn't resist...had to go to the back yard and shoot some lightning vid. Lots of incloud and cloud to air with the storms coming into southern Cleveland County. Now, I am going back to paper writing .

Just spoke to Ray Walker, he reports baseball hail near Maysville also witnessed a decent meso with this storm.

Im noticing the bulge starting to retreat very fast. The SW winds that were in W and SW ok have switched to the E and SE. Moisture is returning to to NC tx as well. Probley not a good thing for tonight but me seeing this moisture return already with nothing standing in its way to sweep it out looks to be a good thing for the nest 3 days in the southern and central plains!!!

That seems to be the case Bob. I was leaving from Miami towards Tulsa thinking this may be a long night. I got to Vinita and said ah heck with it. I think the two storms that were coming out of the OKC area hit an area of cap and CINH. They sure took a dive. I saw this happen on time in SW KS. A storm quickly went torn. warned and then poof wasn't even on reflectivity 45 minutes later.
