• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Might be tough to pull a tornado out of 10-20 degrees dewpoints:

Then again, at 228 hours, the GFS is likely showing the exact opposite of what is going to happen. I like your thinking!

hah! i think it's just more along the lines of wishful thinking...because I'm hoping some stuff gets active while I'm on spring break!!!

I just wanted to update everyone, Taylor Campbell currently has the closest guess. She picked Douglasville, GA on 03/26. There were tornadoes in Georgia on that date. There are a lot more dates to go, so this might get interesting.

Edit: But remember, to win you have to have a photo or video. In other words, you have to be there.

That's right Skip, you do. I should have clarified and reminded everyone of that, I was just keeping tally of how close everyone was for fun. But yes, to win you do have to have a photo or video. I'm going to edit everything to I did today to make that more clear.

My 5/7 prediction was Peoria, IL which is about 95 miles west [EDIT: less than that as the crow flies, I think we're measuring that way?] of the tornado near Paxton that day. Sadly I had obligations in Minnesota so I couldn't chase. Regardless I guess that makes me the cheater leader now? lol

Pic is about halfway down this page: http://jenniferketchmark.blogspot.com/2011/05/funnel-cloudstornadoes-57.html

Sorry, but for the cheater leader status I just hit the bullseye with yesterday's storms I think. Waiting to see a picture, but the report for 5/21/11 Topeka, KS is definitely there. Sadly, I decided to chase storms with better looking tornadoes :D

Who is winning so far?

If it counts for anything, I was one day off and 93 miles from my target of 6/18 Kearney, NE when Lucio, Williamson, Brindley, and I caught this tornado near McCook, NE on 6/19:

And two days off and 17 miles from when we caught this tornado near Pleasanton, NE on 6/20:

I haven't looked at them so far to see who has nailed a date, but so far you are the only one who has come back with a tornado photo or video, albeit one day off!
