2011-09-15 MISC: MD unexpected tornado

There was an unusual and unexpected waterspout in Ocean City, Maryland today that came ashore and did some minor damage. I haven't seen any radar data yet though it appears to be a tornadic waterspout. So far, no official reports. Below are some links to recent YouTube videos of the event.

AKQ is reporting this as tstm wind damage with unconfirmed sighting of funnel cloud... Looks pretty confirmed to me

I like how that cart goes rolling by in the wind about 1.54 There's a new sport to try: tornado-cart boarding. Didn't the weather service see some of those videos? update later I suppose to the storm report?

Not in a tornado situation, but I got a YT video with two (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TIvOeZS5FA and skip to 5:25) shopping carts rolling by and actually turn a corner all by themselves in Germantown, MD during a local storm.

Typical Mid-Atlantic tornado situation. Unexpected. Highly rain wrapped (although initially not so). Never officially recognized. ;-)
