Thought I'd roll this one out there as the damage reports are starting to really come in now via local media. Personally I had 60-70 mph est winds here at home as a couplet moved just to the south. My time lines up with an official report from just to my SW.

Media is reporting major damage in the Neenah/Menasha area, and the City of Kaukauna has been hard as well. Structural damage is reported and law enforcement is requesting no travel in the area. I'm sure tomorrow will be interesting with the damage surveys...

I have some mediocre lightning photos I took from behind the line which I will post as soon as I can get them cleaned up.

I was on Hwy 22 just south of Wautoma. Took a couple vids and a few pics. Nothing really that good though. Storms were moving so fast that it was very hard to chase in that area. So many trees, etc. I was on the second storm that rolled through Wautoma and spawned the TOR's in Neenah/Menasha. Defintitely an interesting night for those of us from WI! Unfortunately since that storm was moving so fast, I couldn't keep up with it.

Road construction south of Tomah could have caused a very bad day for a lot of people, as traffic was backed up to a crawl and a tornado-warned cell approaching. Unfortunately, extricating ourselves from this mess put us behind the curve on the cells which went on to create damage along Hwy 80 and Hwy 21 near Arkdale. We saw trees down and some light structural damage to homes, and more moderate damage to outbuildings in both places. We made it to Friendship where the storm was apparently tornado warned (we had lost data at this point), but visually it wasn't that impressive.

I went to Boston this past weekend, and of course my friends Colt and them would see the most epic tornadoes ever. At least I got to fly over thunderstorms in SE Missouri to Tulsa. It was pretty cool, the storms were relatively low topped because we were able to fly completely over them:

So far we have one EF1 confirmed 5mi SW Hancock, WI; one EF2 between Arkdale and Cottonville, WI:

And one EF1 in Kaukauna, WI. The Green Bay survey teams are still out and the final tally will most likely rise. Also the Twin Cities office should have survey info forthcoming regarding northwest Wisconsin.

I am not sure that release is correct, perhaps I am missing something and have emailed the WFO about it.

August 18th 2005 had 27 tornadoes in Wisconsin that day.

"The surface low moved east into east central Wisconsin by 10 PM CDT that evening. Favorable wind shear associated with the warm front, combined with the strong instability supplied by the heat and humidity resulted in a record outbreak of 27 tornadoes across Wisconsin in the late afternoon and evening. The previous record of 24 tornadoes was set on May 8, 1988"

I know that, I must of been correct as they released a corrected version this morning with the August event on it
and as number 1.

If you read the page at the link you posted it lists more then just April events.
Looks like they haven't updated the webpage yet though.

I know that...like I said, but the list indicated did not show the August..it shows other months and indicated that May 8th was the largest outbreak.

Would you like the email the WCM sent me admiting the error and correcting it?
