• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

2009 Tornado Season

Who knows..you are all probably close. Here I'll probably head south in C-IL for my first usually in mid- April.. APR 15 C.IL..?According to Gilberte Sebesnte this weak La nina could be good for IL. So he seemed excited about that. I'll take what comes.
I usually rely on the long range 3 days forecast to get time off..we need 48 hours..it doesnt always work but sometimes it does. Sometimes a sick day is needed ;)
In any event hopefully it will be eventful and busy.

Na, probably not... its not as fun when you called a day within a model's range.. :D

Yeah, I was just trying to sneak that one in there. I'm pretending to feel good about getting the date (of the three or so days) right. Actually, I'm just surprised I named it without completely jinxing the outcome. I figured as soon as I picked the 10th, SPC would issue a high risk with the event playing out as either a blue sky or cirrus clouded bust.

Well I was saying this is a Vortex year so Ardmore , Ok would be hit . ( Been hit the last 2 ). But never posted it Dam.

I guess I could increase my chances by listing an event for every date of the season ;)

23 Tornado Reports for March 27, but none in the panhandles. How 'bout those NC tors? Anybody call that one? SPC issued a late slight risk area after several of the tornadoes had already occurred. We targeted central LA and fell behind the big southern cell on winding roads and small towns after a late decision to pursue the ongoing cell. On a more positive note, our TVN stream seemed to work well on first effort.

April 16th Ok/Tx panhanle

first post:
I thought I would have a little fun and throw out a date and state for tornadoes this spring. There is absolutely nothing scientific about this.

Feel free to throw out a date or two and the area you like, and at the end of the season we will revisit this thread and see if anyone happened to guess a day accurately.

I am going to say May 17th in northwest OK.

OK...it's almost the end of the year...time to start seeing who got lucky with their predictions.

I'll be putting up a separate thread (that is more serious) with all the year end stat stuff (which I think I've done in the past...I know I do it on my own..and for my website).
