• After witnessing the continued decrease of involvement in the SpotterNetwork staff in serving SN members with troubleshooting issues recently, I have unilaterally decided to terminate the relationship between SpotterNetwork's support and Stormtrack. I have witnessed multiple users unable to receive support weeks after initiating help threads on the forum. I find this lack of response from SpotterNetwork officials disappointing and a failure to hold up their end of the agreement that was made years ago, before I took over management of this site. In my opinion, having Stormtrack users sit and wait for so long to receive help on SpotterNetwork issues on the Stormtrack forums reflects poorly not only on SpotterNetwork, but on Stormtrack and (by association) me as well. Since the issue has not been satisfactorily addressed, I no longer wish for the Stormtrack forum to be associated with SpotterNetwork.

I apologize to those who continue to have issues with the service and continue to see their issues left unaddressed. Please understand that the connection between ST and SN was put in place long before I had any say over it. But now that I am the "captain of this ship," it is within my right (nay, duty) to make adjustments as I see necessary. Ending this relationship is such an adjustment.

For those who continue to need help, I recommend navigating a web browswer to SpotterNetwork's About page, and seeking the individuals listed on that page for all further inquiries about SpotterNetwork.

From this moment forward, the SpotterNetwork sub-forum has been hidden/deleted and there will be no assurance that any SpotterNetwork issues brought up in any of Stormtrack's other sub-forums will be addressed. Do not rely on Stormtrack for help with SpotterNetwork issues.

    Sincerely, Jeff D.

Central Plains Severe Weather Symposium

As of most of you know my now, I've been assisting in the organization of the CPSWS for the last couple years. This particular event is much different than most other conferences as it has a more family oriented theme. The main focus of the symposium is to help create the awareness and preparedness for severe weather. In past years we've had chasers either attend or give presentations. Our presentations for this year are pretty much set but if you would like to attend and maybe make some cash off of video or picture sales, please feel free to contact me.

I realize that for the last couple years there have been issues regarding the date of the event as it is the same day as the conference in Des Moines. Again, the target audience of this event is much different than other conferences including Des Moines.

Please feel free contact me (PM or [email protected]) about any questions you may have regarding this year's Symposium.

Hope to see you there!

Not only that, the last 2 years it has fallen on decent chase days!!

Yeah I know!

I understand completely if a good setup is out there on that particular day but I have no choice I have to be there.

Someone asked me about recommending moving it to either Fall or Winter and we've contemplated that but from the feedback we're received our attendance might be affected because the general public might not have as much interest in this kind of conference at that time of year.

Mark your calendars....Saturday, March 29, 2008....CHASE DAY!!!! ;)

Was going to go last year, but opted for chasing instead and ended up missing it. I want to go this year, but I'm leaving for Vegas the next day. I hope those who go have a great time.

Looks like an interesting line up, I definitely wanna catch Mike's presentation of the Greensburg tornado!! Barring any chance for severe weather, those coming to town let me know… we can go have a few drinks, downtown Lincoln Bars can be quite the time.

Looks like I will bump this since it is in 2 days.

I will make the trip out to Lincoln early Saturday, is there anything to do (dumb question to ask) after the symposium?

I'll be giving two presentations in the breakout rooms during the day. The first one being at 11 a.m. (Internet Weather) and the second one at 1 p.m. (Tornado Preparedness). We are expecting quite the turnout and I think we can easily break last year's attendance record (~3500 attendees).
