2008-05-29 NOW: SD/NE/KS/IA/MN/WI

Eric is still on the storm said it still has elephant trunk on the ground and they are trying to follow it up through Munden, Narka, Mahaska and up to Reynolds. He should have a good view the entire way.

I know it is after midnight but radar is indicating a tornado on the ground in Audubon county Iowa moving towards Guthrie Center. CH8 Met said a damaging tornado could be on the ground right now. Nice looking storm on radar.

EDIT: Trained spotters are seeing a funnel cloud by Guthrie Center. Also a new circulation is forming to the south of the first circulation. Radar showing strong signatures of rotation with this storm.

Should be an interesting night across Iowa. Currently a storm with a nice little hook south of Marshalltown with TVS icon. Seems we keep having these little half-way embedded sups start spinning for a while then wimp out after a short time...

There is a big hook on the storm in Jasper County IA. A tornado looks to be developing near Laurel. Funnel clouds are being reported.

EDIT: Trained weather spotters are reporting a tornado on the ground near Laurel.

Strong rotation now near Montour Iowa east of the hook near Laurel. This is not good as it is dark outside and most people are sleeping. This makes 2 areas of strong rotation for the same storm.

Strong storms still west of Des Moines moving east. Also new tornado warnings in sw Iowa and nw MO.

EDIT: new tornado warning for Dallas County just west of Polk County. (Des Moines is in Polk) Strom near Redfield capable of producing a tornado and this storm is heading towards Des Moines.

EDIT2: A trained spotter is reporting a tornado on the ground near Adel in Dallas County.

Scott Currens and I just intercepted an amazing multi vortex that turned into what looked like a dusty wedge near glen elder ks .... Absolutely incredible motions ... More later ... We are off in a bit of a ditch right now stuck.

PS - we're still stuck. Sounds like Dennis Sherrod is going to give us a lift. Thanks Dennis!
