Missed the Rice, Texas tornado to the south. Go to WFAA website to see video of tornado as it crosses I-45. I Chased from DFW to Greenville to Canton Texas today and encountered marble size hail,rotating wall cloud,scud,brief spin up off Hwy 19 north of Emory.I suspect the wall cloud I had seen was right after the Lone Oak, Texas Tornado. To end the evening I was treated to a spectacular lightning show of the Kaufman County storm

Rice, Texas Tornado Intercept- 10/24/10

Targeted Corsicana as investigation area. Departed Richardson at 1:15 pm and drove down I-45. Due to intense wind sheer that blew storms to smithereens in our target region, nearly gave up the day as a bust.. However, at supper time, pursued a Cell that produced a delightful photogenic tornado that manifested many forms over about 1/2 hour period of time. Yay My First Post!!!
Headed East on Hw 84 from Fairfield to catch up to a supercell that was developing rapidly near Waco... If I would have waited a bit I would have seen that there was a more impressive supercell on radar that was heading towards Rice and maybe just maybe I could have seen the Rice TX tornado lol.... Even though I feel down that I missed out on the big one, I had a Fantastic time tornado or not because of new dents in car from golf ball sized hail (New Battle Scars LOL), seen persistent rotating wall clouds and funnels that almost touched down..

Good to see some pics of the tornado, Stephen. I stayed in NE TX and got on a few storms, but there wasn't much to see. Several other severe warned storms put out some lightning after dark. Got these after I had returned home.
