Rather intense storm system should bring 2-3' + of snow in the Cascades this weekend, with local wind gusts exceeding 70mph. Potential for lowland (Seattle) snow even exists as the storm exits the region later in the forecast period. Travel over the Cascades will be difficult at best.
Will be heading up to Mt. Rainier for an extended weekend of hiking, photography and video of the event. Target for now is to hike the Wonderland Trail up to Mowich Lake / Tolmie Peak. Avalanche danger is high with new snow falling on hard pack, so I'll try to steer clear of those areas!
