1/6/07 REPORTS: WA

Billy Griffin

Using laptop and Sprint connection card from high atop Tolmie Peak in our tent. Winds are howling and we have well over two feet of snow on top of what we had earlier. Snow drifts are becoming a challenge keeping the tent entrance clear, but we're okay for now.

Will try to catch a little sleep and then post photos in the morning. Very heavy, wet snow. Not too cold, maybe upper 20s? Winds have downed many trees up here, so we've set up camp in a small clearing, away from avalanche and potential tree falls.

WA-DOT reports most passes are now closed. Not sure if we'll be able to make it out in my truck once we hike back tomorrow or not. It's a winter wonderland up here! Will try to upload some HD video to my website as well.
